Good times at Casa&Ideas

Laura and I stumbled upon this at our favorite store. Inappropriate much?
Still, couldn't help but take a picture.

Skyping with Kai

Skyping is the only way I get to see my beautiful niece Kai so when I get the opportunity I like to take pictures to remember the moments.

Everytime I see her she gets cuter!

Room: A novel

I read this book a few weeks ago and I thought I would share it. It was unlike anything I've ever read before. It's written from the perspective of a 5 year old which makes the writing a little unusual but interesting. The novel follows a five year old and his mom who have been locked in a room for years. The mom was abducted 7 years before by a man and gave birth to his baby 2 years later. The child hasn't seen any of the world outside of the room so when he finally sees it, his response is different than maybe expected. Good book! I highly recommend it!

BoldLoft

I re discovered BoldLoft while browsing on Amazon today. They are by far some of the cutest products ever! I want to order everything off of this website! Here's a couple of my favs!

Before & After

After countless comments of how skinny I am I started to wonder if I really looked that different. I mean, sure, I gained 20 pounds when I was here last time, and pretty much lost it all, but does that really make a difference? So I compared pictures. I don't know that it's thaat much different although I can see a huge difference in my face. All I can say is I feel much better and much healthier now no matter what I weight.

Before...
After..

P.S. Notice the difference in hair color. Since going dark there is a HUGE difference in the number of cat calls, guys proposing, guys that 'love' me and honking. It is SOO worth it. Moral of the story: when in South America, be as the South Americans are.

Ok I just realized how ironic that is with a picture of a random Chilean guy kissing me on the cheek. That only happened once. And he knew I was a tourist because of my very American brother with the camera.

Chile, part II

Okay, I'm finally giving in and writing my first post. I feel like I've been in denial for so long about coming back here and now that I'm here writing about it will just make it that much more real. But here I am, writing.

Coming back here is not as traumatic as I thought it would be. As soon as I got here I felt like I was coming back to 'real' life. I've made the transition pretty well. I mean it's not hard transitioning to nice, sunny weather. I'm still on vacation though. I'm still a little worried what will happen when I start school. We still don't start for a couple weeks because the director told us the wrong dates so we're all here a little early. Isn't that awesome? Luckily it is really nice here and sleeping in late and enjoying the sunshine is not the hardest thing I've had to do in my life.

For now, I'm doing well. We'll see how I feel when the actual hard part comes. Until then I'm going to enjoy the sunshine.
